The Second Seduction of a Lady

Don't miss out get your copy here.

MIRANDA NEVILLE

On Sale Oct 16, 2012 - ISBN 9780062243362, 9780062243379

Format: E-Book, Mass Market PB

Enter the thrilling, sexy world of Georgian England in this splendid Miranda Neville novella-and catch a glimpse of Caro, the heroine of the upcoming The Importance of Being Wicked, on sale December 2012. Eleanor Hardwick and Max Quinton shared one night of incredible passion…that was shattered the next day, when Eleanor learned of a bet placed by Max's friends. Now, a year later, Max still can't get Eleanor out of his head or his heart. He has a single chance to make a second impression-one that will last forever.

The Seduction of Sara

The Seduction of Sara is the lively conclusion to Karen Hawkins's trilogy of passionate Regency historical romances. Saraphina Lawrence is a willful young woman, as magnificent as the Lawrence sapphires she proudly wears. She wed once for passion and was widowed scandalously when her bridegroom fell from a carriage while coupling with his mistress.

Now, faced with an ultimatum from her brothers -- remarry and live quietly and respectably, or lose the income that supports the independent life she loves -- Sara is quick to plan her strategy. Exiled to the dull town of Bath for the Season, she must find a gentleman who is socially acceptable, tolerable in looks and manners and, most important, willing to let Sara have her way in all matters.

Her search is going poorly when she hits upon a splendid plan involving Nicholas Montrose, the notorious Earl of Bridgeton (the irresistible villain in need of redemption who was introduced in Hawkins's first book,The Abduction of Julia). Nick wants Sara for his mistress, and she thinks it would be splendid to have such a masterful lover teach her the art of seduction, hoping to use those new skills to lure a suitably compliant man to the altar. It would be hard to say whether Nick or Sara is more surprised when Sara practices the wiles Nick taught her on Nick himself -- and the man who swore he'd never marry is tempted to propose to the one woman who has promised she will never be his bride.

Review as on Goodreads by Sassy~Amy

This book was much better than the first MacLean Curse book. This is a whole different series! There were no 21 century american colloquialisms!! Which made it great! This had a pretty good story that was fast pace, but some things were never mentioned or clarified that needed to be.

Sara is sent from London to Bath to calm down and settle. She has often said she is going to pick her own husband who will let her run wild & be free before her brothers can do it for her. HOWEVER, there was no mention or hint on their part that they were picking anyone. The only pick was because of a compromising situation. NEVER did a brother mention she should marry an old guy... She picks her picks herself...

The ending sucked. An HEA in the last 3 pages... BUT I do have to say I was entertained with this one...

Rake with a Frozen Heart

Waking up in a stranger's bed, Henrietta Markham encounters the most darkly sensual man she has ever met. The last thing she remembers is being attacked by a housebreaker—yet being rescued by the notorious Earl of Pentland feels much more dangerous!

Since the cataclysmic failure of his marriage, ice has flowed in Rafe St. Alban's veins. But meeting impetuous, all-too-distracting governess Henrietta heats his blood to the boiling point.

When she's accused of theft, Rafe finds himself offering to clear her name. Can Henrietta's innocence bring this hardened rake to his knees?

Review as on Goodreads by Sassy~Amy

This was a surprise! Best of all this book was written by an author from the UK about the Historical UK. The english spelling was such terminology was great! Obviously not an american describing something they aren't really familiar with!

This was a great short story. Not a Novella.

Henrietta is a governess accused if stealing heirloom jewels from her employer. After whitnessing the break in, being knocked unconscious by the housebreaker, left for dead in a ditch, she is rescued by the notorious rake, (Rafe) the next door neighbor(neighbour) After her escape from the accusing employer, she stoys away in Rafe's carriage as he leaves for London. He find her & offers to help her clear her name.

Rafe is a Rake and not until the end do you find out his true story even though parts are told throughout. I was surprised & never saw it coming. Many things were hinted atm but none were useless fillers in this fast paced story. Every line had a reason, which made it a great story; NOT something randomly pieced together as an after thought.

This was a hard to put down story when I had to put it down. It put me in a bad snappy mood when I had to run my errands I couldn't wait to get back to read the rest!

The only bad part is the cover. Neither character looks or dresses as described. I'm glad I didn't see the cover only saw the title. I may not have read it.

Review:

This book is a cocktail mix of paranormal with Scotland - an absolute love affair. Lucy's writing is filled with passion and life, each word is felt to the core of your being, flowing with ease. A must read series. Highly recommended.

After Dark With a Scoundrel

Young, tender, and highly impressionable, Lady Regan can’t help but be intrigued by her brother’s wayward friends—the wickedly charming Lords of Vice. One man in particular, the dashing Lord Hugh Mordare (known simply as “Dare” among the ton), utterly captivates her—in spite of his reputation as a notorious womanizer. But when she steals an innocent kiss from Dare, Regan is swiftly packed off to boarding school, safely away from danger…and desire.

Five years later, Regan returns—a proper lady and ravishing beauty. Miss Swann’s Academy for Young Ladies has taught her how to behave in polite society. But all the training in the world cannot extinguish her love for Dare. Now, she hopes to beat the master of seduction at his own game—by daring Dare to love her in return. This time, both of their hearts are on the line…and winner takes all.

Reviewed by Milena's Book Corner

Of all the Lords of Vice series, this one was by far the best. There was an instant chemistry between Regan and Dare making their relationship a thrilling journey straight from the very beginning. I loved Regan as she's both a lady and a rebel. A great fast read, at times a bit frustrating. I recommend it.

The Husband Hunt

Let the hunt begin…

Lisa Madison wants a husband, and she has just the candidate in mind: Robert Langley. Trouble is, the infuriating man insists on seeing her as the impish girl she once was—even as every other gentleman in London has taken notice of her womanly…charms. When her beauty lands her in danger, it’s Robert who comes to the rescue…only to announce his affections are not of the romantic variety!

Robert saw enough sorrow in his parents’ union to know he wants nothing to do with marriage, which is exactly what he’ll be trapped into if he acts on his desire for the irksome siren. And then Lisa does what Robert least expects: gives up on him! As feigned indifference gives way, blistering passion burns at last. But just before the pair can give in to hard-won bliss, an enemy with unfinished business lurks threatening to destroy them both.

Review as on Goodreads by Sassy~Amy

I am purely rating this book as it fits in the series. NOT as a stand alone book.

This book was the best of the series. There was only 2 pages explaining the last 2 books instead of a 1/2 repeat like the second. I did not find myself skipping pages like I did in the other books.

Lisa is the youngest of the Madison sisters. She has been in love with her neighbor Robert her entire life. While in London a couple seasons ago, during her sisters troubles, she met Mrs. Mason, who kidnaps her & her maid in order to sell her to a man who wants to marry her. He is referred to as the Suitor. She helps the maid escape & has her go to Robert for help. Robert rescues her. He tells her brothers-in-law what happened & they come up with a plan to protect Lisa. In the meantime, Robert rebuffs Lisa, so she decides to go husband hunting & forget Robert. Robert doesn't like that idea.

It was a great action packed story with constant attempts to kidnap Lisa & Robert running to her rescue. It is so easy to figure out who is the suitor right away, even though it tries to steer you another way. BUT Lisa was fun...

Knight (Unfinished Hero, #1)

Anya Gage has learned that to get anything good in life, you have to work for it. She has no expectations, no dreams.

Then she finds herself at a party where she doesn’t want to be and she meets Knight.

Knight Sebring knows who he is, what he wants and what he likes. And he gets it. But he never expected something as sweet as Anya Gage to wander into his bedroom during a party he did not expect to be having to borrow his phone.

Knight tries to leave Anya to the life she deserves of white picket fences and a man who watches football on Sundays – good, normal and clean. But when Anya comes to his nightclub and finds herself in a situation, he knows someone has to look after her, he can’t fight it anymore and he decides that man will be him.

Knight teaches Anya that, just as with the bad, in life you should also expect the good. And he teaches her this by giving it to her.

But Knight has a dark past and just as he desires Anya for exactly who she is, he fears when she finds out exactly the man he has become and always intends to be, she’ll leave him for good, normal and clean.
