Wow, Campbell really knows how to pack an emotional punch. Throughout most of the book I felt as though I was living the characters life and I loved it. The love scenes were so emotional with so many components thrown in, making the characters join body and soul.

Campbell is a particular author with a writing style that just wont appeal to everyone especially when she makes the hero out to be an absolute ass, however that is what she does best. I love Campbell's bad ass hero's.

I enjoyed this second instalment to the 'Mistress Matchmaker' series by Jess Michaels. Definitely a standalone which is great for those whom haven't read the first book. I was actually surprised that the blurb pretty much tells you all you need to know about this book. I liked both John and Mariah with great character development. I liked it that although Mariah is a courtesan, she is still quite naive when it comes to relationships and love, somehow giving her a touch of vulnerability. The sex scenes suited the story to a-T.

The Wicked Wedding of Miss Ellie Vyne

Her latest prank: "winning" the Hartley diamonds in a card game from James's mistress.

James finally has a lead on the thieving Count de Bonneville, tracking him to a disreputable inn. He bursts in on none other than the brazen, irritating, nearly naked Ellie Vyne. Convinced she is the count's mistress, James decides it's best to keep his enemies close. Very close. He must get those diamonds back, and seducing Ellie will be the perfect bait.

Review:
What a cute story this is, fast passed with a lovely romantic ending. I really enjoyed watching James try to keep up with Ellie, as she was a bit wild. A perfect fun couple I say. I definitely recommend this story as it is lots of fun read.

The Bridegroom Wore Plaid

In an effort to preserve the family estate, Ian MacGregor, the Earl of Balfour, must marry for money. When a promising match emerges in the form of Genie Daniels, a rich English heiress, Ian begins devising a strategy to woo her. When he meets Genie's poor cousin Augusta, he discovers a new avenue to Genie's heart. But after spending time with Augusta and falling for her charms, Ian begins to question whether or not he's willing to forfeit his heart to save the family name…

Review:

There are three other romances weaving through the main one involving Augusta and Ian's families. All short but very satisfying.
Both Ian and Augusta are likeable characters. Ian is extremely devoted to his family and Augusta once a wealthy woman now penniless, making the most of her situation. And of course love blooms!

Maybe a bit over the top having four MacGregors marrying four Danieles and the villain was super evil.

A recommendable read.

Review:
When compared to the first book in the series, this one is definitely slower paced however still quite compelling, heartfelt with a nice mix of characters. Portia is a very family orientated woman, devoted and headstrong as well as a good provider. Harry doesn't fall short off the mark, even though not expected of him. His love for his brother is overwhelming and beautiful. Both characters showed so much love for their family - a joy to read.

Can't wait for the next book in the series, The Devil's Heart: The Chattan Curse.

Seducing Mr.Knightly

Derek never really took note of his shy, wallflower lady writer. But suddenly she's exquisite . . . and he can't get Annabelle out of his mind! She must be pursuing someone, but who? For some inexplicable reason, the thought of her with another man makes Knightly insanely jealous.

Review:

A refreshing fun story filled with change and growth as well as heaps of laugh out loud moments. Absolutely loved the characters, especially Annabelle- a courages woman and Derek Knightly- what a hero!

This one is filled with heart and is not to be missed.

A Most Naked Solution

But the pull of their mutual desire is all-consuming. Can Sophia trust Camden with the truth when she knows it might kill the love that has grown between them?

Review:

Another short story with lots of potential for more character and plot development, still the author did bring into play Sophia and Camden quite nicely, enough so that it left me wanting to read more. 
Sorry this wasn't a full length book but it was still a good read.

But when he awakes the next morning to find his family heirloom gone, fury quickly replaces sensual languor. Of course, Alasdair is more than willing to use seduction to reclaim his stolen pearl—and find the key to Julianna's heart.

Review:

I got through this one quite quickly, no more than an hour. I will admit that the plot is absolutely horrible, however the sex...oh lala!.... Hot, Hot, Hot. Alasdair and Julianna could not be any more deserving of each other, you must read to understand what I mean.

An engaging story, filled with tension, corruption, suspense, unselfish devotion and love. Charlotte a country gal and the eldest sister of four, auctions herself to become mistress to the highest bidder in order to give her sisters a better opportunity in life.

I really enjoyed the characters as they were so much fun, especially the feelings that prospered between Charlotte and Lucas. I think Ms Silver would do really well to develop these characters by turning this story into a novella, I would definitely read them. A great pick and a definite recommendation from me.

"I really liked Winter and, while it took a bit longer for me to warm to Isabel, I did wind up rooting for her. They make an unlikely pair, and I finished the book wondering if they are truly suited for each other over the long haul, but this is fantasy, after all. I appreciated Winter's interactions with the children and his obvious love for them. There was a side plot that ran throughout the book that felt completely unconnected to the story, and was there solely to set up the next book in the series, that I found to be intrusive and annoying.

But, Thief of Shadows is Winter's story, and, in the end succeeds, for he is a fascinating and compelling character."
